A real town at the foot of Mont Blanc. Easier to supply, easier to staff.
Chamonix is not a purpose-built resort. It is a town with its own shops, its own suppliers and a resident population, which solves most of the problems that make high-altitude work difficult.
It also works in summer, with mountaineers and walkers, so the chalets are occupied in both seasons. Staff are easier to find and to keep, and lead times are shorter than at Courchevel or Val d’Isère.
Chalets are scattered across the valley, from Les Praz to Les Houches. Ten minutes by car can be thirty in winter traffic.
