Year-round
Household staff placement in villas
Finding someone for the summer is a question of availability. Finding the person who will run the house for years is a question of judgement.
A recruitment, not a placement
Seasonal assignments answer a bounded need: dates, a place, a service. A year-round placement follows another logic entirely. It means settling a professional into a house, alongside a family, with habits that appear in no job description.
This is the original craft of the business. Before private chefs and villa stays, Guillaume Leloup’s work was recruiting household staff for private employers. That experience shapes how long searches are conducted today.
The difference lies in what is being sought. For a week, you verify skills. For a permanent post, you also look for compatibility: with the family, with the rhythm of the property, with the other staff, and with a way of living that is not that of an establishment.
How it works
How a search is conducted
- 01
Analysing the need
A thorough conversation about the property, the family, the post and how it fits the existing organisation. This is the decisive stage.
- 02
Search and shortlisting
Identifying profiles within the network and beyond, then preliminary interviews to verify experience, professional references and fit with the post as described.
- 03
Presenting candidates
You receive full files on the shortlisted profiles, with their background and what was verified at interview.
- 04
Meetings and decision
Interviews are arranged at your convenience, with or without Guillaume present. The decision is entirely yours.
- 05
Follow-up after the start
A review is held with the house and with the person hired once they have settled, so that anything needing correction is caught while there is still time.
Transparency
What we do not do on your behalf
Better said plainly. The support covers the search, the selection and the introduction of profiles, together with follow-up once the post is taken up.
Employment formalities rest with the employer and their advisers: contracts, declarations, payroll, social obligations. The precise terms of engagement are agreed directly with Guillaume, according to your situation.
We can, on the other hand, assist with the hiring itself: drafting the offer, framing the post, conducting interviews and supporting the first day. And when a house is placed under our management, the staff can be employed directly by the company, which then holds the contract.
This boundary is deliberate: it avoids implying a service exists when it has not been agreed.
Frequently asked
Year-round placement
01How does this differ from a seasonal placement?
A seasonal placement covers a defined period: a dinner, a week, a season. Year-round placement is about settling a professional into the house for the long term. The search is longer and weighs human compatibility as much as skill.
02How long does a search take?
Thanks to the network built up over the years it usually moves fast: the good people are already known, so nothing starts from scratch. The timeline depends mostly on two things: how precisely you describe the post and the house, and how easily meetings can be arranged. A common profile is found faster than a trilingual house chef willing to live in. We prefer to state a realistic timeline rather than a commercial one.
03Are candidates met before being presented?
Yes. Preliminary interviews verify background, experience in private houses and fit with the post as described, before any introduction.
04Do you handle contracts and payroll?
Yes, on the terms set out above. We can assist with the hiring itself, and when a house is placed under our management the staff can be employed directly by the company. Outside that arrangement the formalities remain the employer’s. The exact terms are agreed directly with Guillaume.
05Do you work with houses that already employ staff?
Yes, and it is the most frequent case. It means completing an existing team, which requires understanding the organisation in place before looking for anyone.
06Do you work only on the French Riviera?
No. The French Riviera remains the principal territory, but we work throughout France and internationally. Finding and settling the right person, wherever the house is, is precisely the trade.
