Private chef for a chalet in Val d'Isère

High, snow-sure, and a season that runs to May. Rare in the Alps.

Val d’Isère skis late, which stretches the season well beyond the usual. April and even early May see occupied chalets, when most resorts have closed.

The clientele is more sporting than at Megève or Courchevel 1850. People ski all day and come home hungry. Dinners matter more than lunches, and a chef here cooks for genuine appetites rather than for show.

Altitude has one practical effect worth knowing: deliveries depend on the road, and a heavy snowfall can delay a supplier by half a day. Stock accordingly.
