Private chef in Mougins
The village fed the Riviera’s cooking for forty years. The houses around it expect the same standard at home.
Mougins is one of the few places on this coast where gastronomy is part of the identity rather than the décor. The village carried a generation of cooks, and it still shows in what people expect: an owner here who brings a chef into the house knows what they are looking at.
Demand splits in two. The large gated properties in the countryside, often occupied a few months a year, where the chef settles in for the stay. And international families living here permanently, frequently around the schools, for whom the question is not the set-piece dinner but the everyday done properly.
What the geography changes
Houses are scattered through the hills, behind gates, at the end of private lanes that are sometimes narrow. It sounds like a detail until the first day of service: a chef who does not know the area loses half an hour on every errand, and a badly judged delivery is paid for that same evening. We favour people who have already worked between Mougins, Valbonne and Le Cannet.
Cannes cuts both ways. During the big events, availability tightens across the whole area and last-minute requests become hard to honour.
Beyond the cooking
Many Mougins properties want more than a chef: a housekeeper for the interior and the linen, a butler when the house entertains, a caretaker for the empty months. These searches are usually run together, because a team assembled one half at a time rarely ends up working as one.
