Hinterland
Private chef in Grasse
The hinterland begins here. Bigger houses, longer distances, and a less punishing summer.
Twenty minutes from the coast, Grasse and its countryside offer properties of another scale: bastides, estates, whole parks. These are houses built to entertain at length, not for a passing dinner.
The trade-off is distance. A chef based on the coast loses time travelling, and last-minute errands do not exist. For long stays we favour people willing to live in, which changes the fluidity of the week entirely.
A season that does not follow the coast
The hinterland fills in spring and September as much as in high summer, when the heat makes the shore less pleasant. Availability in July is better than people assume.
